You can also visit his Facebook page at the link below and wish him a happy belated birthday.

If you’re a fan of Tyga’s hit “Rack City” you may have heard a paradoy version circulating the Internet, your local frat party or dive bar. It’s called “Cat City.” There have been numerous versions created on YouTube, some better than others, but this most recent post takes the cake for professionalism and original lyrics.

Warning: this video has lots of offensive words. So i guess if you’re offended easily, don’t watch? Otherwise, enjoy!

I Don’t Think You Ready For This Cuteness

But seriously… I don’t think anyone could be fully prepared for the amount of cuteness that’s about to hit them, because it’s time to observe animals hanging out with stuffed animal versions of themselves. If you think you’re not going to squeal, shed a tear or jump up and down in excitement in the next few minutes, I’m sorry to inform you that you are very, VERY wrong.

Channing Tatum has a dream, but no shirt. The film Magic Mike is an upcoming comedy directed by Steven Soderbergh, starring Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey, Joe Manganiello and Matt Bomer. When the film is released on June 29th, women everywhere will most likely not be able to control themselves. The trailer, which was released early on the morning of April 19th gained 300,000 views before noon. If this viral hit doesn’t prove just how ridiculous this movie is going to be, I don’t know what will.

P.S. - Channing Tatum sans shirt. That’s all.

Ryan Gosling for President

The world of Ryan Gosling memes reached new heights this weekend when the viral phenomenon hit the ground running with the greatest Easter egg hunt of the 21st century. The continuation of the biggest viral sensation, possibly of all time, occurred when the twitter handle @GoslingEaster was created to tweet out clues to the location of  200 eggs filled with notes and photos “from Gosling.” Cue the fan girl frenzy. The meme made the switch to the physical real world in a genius attempt at bringing the viral trend to the masses with the hunt, further proving the sexy power of our man Ry Ry.

At this point some may say that the area of online Gosling memes has reached an annoying extreme. I say the best is just beginning. If you haven’t come to understand the full scope of this trend, just observe the following samples of the “Hey Girl” division.

The Crazy Girlfriend Praying Mantis: Out for Blood

For some, this may be a throwback. For most, the Crazy Girlfriend Praying Mantis meme will be a fresh, new experience of stalker extremes. The meme features a photo of a praying mantis, where the female is known in most cultures for killing and consuming her male partner before, during, or after mating. You know, typical stuff. So obviously the next step would be to associate such a crazed insect with an overbearing, obsessive girlfriend through an amazing assortment of handpicked jabs and annoying comments. The series had gone seemingly unknown by many for nearly a year, but has finally grasped its full potential of hilarity in recent months.

The meme was first posted to Reddit way back on February 15th, 2011. Shortly afterwards, the website Smosh featured a round-up of images on April 15th, 2011. More variations have been posted on sites like FunnyJunk, Reddit, and the Body Building Forums, and the Crazy Girlfriend Praying Mantis Tumblr was created on March 17th, 2012, further bringing the series into the light of a broader audience.

Enjoy a sampling of the meme below, and head over to http://crazygirlfriendprayingmantis.tumblr.com/ for more nagging, speculating, suspicious remarks and bitchy commentary.

A Heads Up to the TV World

Just in case there aren’t enough bizarre and irrational television shows out there currently in syndication, Bravo TV is gearing up to announce one of it’s newest projects, which highlights the life of Ben Huh, creator of the I Can Has Cheezeburger phenomenon.

The show will focus on the CEO and his eccentric staff who work on the ever popular lolcat meme blog. Since it’s creation in 2007, the blog company has since acquired FAIL BlogKnow Your Meme,Memebase and The Daily What. Huh’s reps have yet to confirm the show, but contracts are said to be in negotiation.

This show could either be as hilarious as the lolcat meme, or a complete disaster, but kudos to Bravo for putting their faith in such a bizarre company and viral genre.

Cats in Ties vs Cash Cats

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s a battle royale. Today we’re examining two very influential blogs in the online cat humor department: cashcats.biz and tiecats.tumblr.com, and pitting them against each other to answer the age old question: are cats in human clothing funnier than cats rolling around in piles of money?

First up is Ca$h Cats, and blog dedicated to the photographing of one’s feline companion and large quantities of US dollars. Whether these cats are the agressive, mob style leader type with greed and blood in his eyes or the blissfully oblivious sleepy cat lying on a bed of crisp $20s, these cats go to show just how gangsta a feline can truly be.

Ca$h Cats tumblr:

Next up is Cats in Ties. Here we find a plethora of adorable feline friends in a range of business casual to black tie attire. Bow ties are the obvious go to, but the addition of a small hat can take this look to a whole new level.

Cats in Ties:

Though it’s hard to choose a winner between these two gems, Ca$h Cats has an unparalleled sense of creativity when it comes to the placement and aesthetic of their scenarios for photographs. And so, Ca$h Cats takes the prize for best cat blog (at least for today.)

What Should We Call Me?

The Tumblr “What Should We Call Me?” has recently popped up in the online community as a fabulous one-stop-shop for sassy comebacks, witty remarks, and relevant happenings that us twenty-somethings can all relate to.

Each post begins with: when _____ happens: followed by a GIF, meme or photo of relevant pop culture icons or happenings that are used to relate back to every day life.

For instance, the post “when someone takes credit for something I said first” is followed by the (obviously) appropriate GIF of Dumbledore standing in Hogwarts giving a look of disapproval, with the caption, “really, bitch?” cleverly written underneath.

Other top contenders include:

  • When I black out and then see pictures from the night before
  • When my friend says she’s going to Starbucks
  • When I found out that Aladdin and DJ Tanner’s boyfriend were the same person

Overall, the blog has potential, but the lolz are rather far between. That said, there a quite a few diamonds in the rough, and if you’ve got the time to scroll through pages and pages of posts (which let’s be honest, you know you do) then this site will welcome you with open arms and most likely swallow you whole.

Cat Breading is Going Strong

I realize that I am rather late on the wagon to post about this exciting and powerful Internet phenomenon that has been sweeping the world over the past month, but I believe it is important to note it’s cultural and political impact on the way our society is being shaped in this time and through our generation…

JK you guys, cats with bread on their heads is just, like, really, really funny and cute, you know?

If you don’t know what cat breading is by now, let me break it down for you. A human takes a slice of bread, takes out a small hole in the center of said slice, and then proceeds to stick a feline companion’s head through that hole, all before taking photos and uploading them to cat breading forums on the Internet. It’s as simple as that.

Stephen Colbert was one of the first to introduce Cat Breading to the mainstream online humor world when he introduced the trend on his talk show in the beginning of February. Since received the “Colbert Bump” of approval, cat breading has spread like wildfire online, with forums, blogs, discussions and Instagram accounts all dedicated to the subtle art of breading your cat.

The Facebook group, “Putting bread on your cat, so people think you have a walking sandwich,” currently possesses 27,000 members who upload and share pictures of cats with slices of bread on their heads. GENIUS. Absolute genius. Of course if you put your pets head in a piece of bread others will think there is an actual sandwich walking around your apartment! Of course!

Cat Breading has also received attention from sites like the UK Daily Mail and Gawker, so you KNOW it’s something you have to like.

The following photos are a few examples of Cat Breading, and just how darn cute this trend has become.

Behold, the Cat Organist!

For those of you tired of the old school, outdated version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, get ready for a breath of fresh air. There’s a new instrument in town that’s guaranteed to get your fists pumping, your heart soaring, and your brain all kinds of confused: the Cat Organ.

This video, originally uploaded to YouTube on March 4th, 2012, has gained a solid 350,000 views. The content is an original outtake of actual BBC footage for God only knows what type of late night special that they aired. But the questions that remain are both simple and perplexing: Who is this man? Where did he foster such talent? How did he discover said Cat Organ? Is he an amateur, or is this his profession? Can one make a living on such a profession? And most importantly, where on earth did this man acquire all of these stuffed animal cats?

It seems these questions may go unanswered, but there’s one thing that’s for sure: I have never heard a more soothing interpretation of a lullaby in my life.

An Open Letter to Angie’s Right Leg

Dear Angelina Jolie’s limb,

Your debut Sunday night at the 84th Academy Awards was groundbreaking. I have a few quick questions, though. Have you always been that toned? How many times a day would you say you moisturize? Is there a reason you’re being shown off and not the left leg? Are you the best looking leg? I’m very confused as to why you’ve been hiding from the world for so long.

Please respond post-haste,

xoxo, Carolyn

Above is the letter I wrote to Angie’s Right Leg in my head just now. If you watched the superbowl of the entertainment industry aka the Academy Awards this Sunday night, you’re very aware of the debut of Angelina Jolie’s right leg popping out from that poofy black ball gown of hers to say hello to the entire audience. Below is just one of the many photographed moments of Angie’s leg coming out to say hi:

I will follow this up with a photo of her being promptly mocked by “The Descendants” screenwriter Jim Rash:

Obviously, Angelina was just asking to be mocked all over the Internet next. Twenty four hours after the Oscars ended, the twitter account @AngiesRightLeg acquired 36,000 followers, tweeting things like “Behold! It’s me!” and “Check me out! Leg!” It’s been only two days, and the online world is still buzzing with humorous interpretations of Angie’s sexy stance. At the creme of the crop are the memes of Angie’s right leg being superimposed onto various photos and works of art in a hilarious mish-mash of randomness. Below is an example of such genius. See the link at the end of this post for the full effect.

There’s also a pinterest board entitled “Legbombing” in which Angie’s leg is photoshopped into basically any and every type of photograph. My two favorites include an interpretation of Batman and the President and the First lady looking very snazzy at a red carpet event:

Finally, I will leave you with my own personal expression and appreciation for Angie’s bony-yet-perfectly-toned leg through a fabulous photoshopped photograph of my own Oscars party (props to Anna for her design skills)
